I have been working with the notion of time and , duration - specifically the differences there are between the social construct of time and the "body time" (circadian rhythms, chronobiology, etcetera), t hrough several pieces depicting various points of view . all seen from different points of view, depending on the piece. I have been exploring time 's and its relationship to nature, space and human activity by questioning our perception of it through the use of video and photography, due to their documentary nature.
My personal interest and perspective toward s time has been directly impacted affected in the recent past by due to a my health condition (orthostatic intolerance combined with postural tachycardia syndrome) , which that directly affects, among other things, my heart rate and circadian rhythms, hence my timing or perception of time. This condition has also interrupted my life in the sense that it often forces me to stay in bed. I'm unable no longer able to rely on the future, for I never know if I will be able to carry out my plans due to my health. This has caused me to become exceedingly very aware of the present and how much we rely on the future's predictability. Besides the frustration being very frustrating due to it's of its unpredictable character, it has forced me to manage my time in a different way from that of the daily routine and restructure my life and career according to the demands of my body, which has inevitably and significantly altered my perception of experiences. and seizing the moment is no longer a cliché to me, for if I don't do so I might regret it in the very near future.
I would like for people to take closer notice of time's passing and the influence it h as on perception and experience - however nuanced and subtle, by having them relate to my experience and awareness of the perception of time , so that from then on they will hopefully take notice of time's passing . The creative process allows me to convey a specific and individualized reality get my ideas in order and to give a physical space to my thoughts , therefore allowing me to share my thinking with others .
